Here’s the word, Bird! The Roaring Kelly Band is double billed this weekend and either show will peel the paint off the walls and catch the floorboards on fire! This Friday night, at the Irishmen in Boca Raton, the Roaring Kelly Band will perform at 7:30pm for the George Walker Memorial Irish Music Festival. There are other bands at the event to be sure and we’re all there to honor the memory of our good fiddle-playing friend George Walker who would have turned 90 years of age this Friday.
The Roaring Kelly Band will perform a barn-burning whoop-it-up with plenty of set and step dancers to throw down a righteous party kicking through the tunes. The monies raised at this event go toward a music and educational scholarship at Florida Atlantic University and at the American College in Dublin, Ireland. The Irish will show for this céilí and you don’t want to hear a bunch of I told-you-so’s if you miss it.
Speaking of Irish, the fun doesn’t stop when the Roaring Kelly Band jumps into Half Way to St. Pat’s on Saturday, at H.J. O’Connor’s in Delray Beach at 4pm. It’s two hours of solid celebration and a grand opportunity to get your liver trained as we build up to the grand event in March. It’s the wearing-of-the-green with our churning music machine as we rip into vicious jigs, bouncing reels, and songs of sorrow, rebellion and sacrilege! Join Ian, Rosemarie, Kevin, Bill and Randy at H.J. O’Connor’s for a Saturday party to kick-off the Erin go Bragh season!
